![]() (I think theres a 1% chance for it to instantly spawn but it's just not worth waiting for.) When you play single player everytime you start up the game it counts as a server reset so nothing you ever see will remain there. I spent 8 hours actively searching when I finally built up to the starmetal node on the side of the mountain my game crashed and I said screw it. ![]() When you hear a loud bang from star metal crashing you can turn it back to normal by entering "slomo 1" Time will speed up and it will increase food and water consumption if you are not sheltered. Make yourself admin then hit the tilde ~ (left of 1 on keyboard) Some advice for single player PC players (not sure if you can get to the console on XB or PS4)īuild a little shack up north so that you have shelter, otherwise you will consume food with no idle bonus Save your SM for Redeemed Legion armor and damage modifying kits for weapons. Either stick with SM or go get the black blood tools until you can get obsidian. They are not worth the extra resource or two it gives over hardened steel which is easy to maintain. Don't walk past an easy world boss without killing it and getting the chest. As people have said, dismantling legendaries gives you five ingots. I've played on servers for a while, and you would get MUCH more star metal than that on a server for the same time you spend on SP. So if I harvest one more, I spawn in 2 or 3 additional pieces of ore. One of the adjustments I made when I played single player is admining in 3 or 4 times what I harvest whenever I finally get a shower to spawn. On SP they will only spawn if you are there with the map loaded. I've waited for over an hour before seeing a shower. I believe the nodes hang around for about 1 hour, so it's possible a meteor shower struck overnight and despawned before another one hit and you missed it, when you left the game running while you slept. Except you, unfortunately, and depending on how pure you're trying to play it can leave a pretty bad taste in your mouth. (Benefit of this is it usually puts you close enough to the meteor shower that while spending time to do this, the meteor shower RNG timer is ticking and may spawn).ĭ: If you're swimming in legendary weapons, dump them into the dismantler for star metal.Į: Build your base near Stargazer's crest north east of the mounds, which is a nice location anyway, that way you're always in the area even while doing other things at your base (keeps the meteor shower timer ticking).į: Admin spawn all the ore you want for free. Turn them, break bond, dump their weapons into a dismantling bench for star metal. (Console gets admin UI, right?)Ĭ: Put down a wheel at the mounds and just start capturing easy T1 and T2 cimmerian fighter/archer thralls at mounds of the dead. As you've discovered, patience eventually wins.ī: Admin spawn the star metal ore and dock yourself one explosive arrow per 250 ore, if using hardened steel tools. ![]() (The definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over again, while expecting different results, they say). Going forward you can try the following methods for getting it:Ī: continue to go afk in the area and check back every so often, as you've been doing. I have entire playthroughs where it never spawned not once, and others with meteor showers for days. Star metal is a PITA in single player, because you must be in the area for it to spawn, and there is some RNG in how soon after entering the area it will spawn.
